How it works

Small steps, and the decisions stay with you.

It starts with a short email and you can stop at any point before you sign.

  1. You tell me about your company

A few lines through the contact form: what you do, roughly how big you are and the systems you use. No files.

  2. I check the basics

I reply by email with an honest read on fit against what the buyer looks for, and answer your questions. If it isn't a fit, I'll tell you.

  3. You apply, if you want

With your OK, I email you a link to micro1's company application. You set up a company profile and list the kinds of records you keep. Applying through my link is how micro1 knows I referred you. I don't share anything about your company.

  4. The buyer reviews and makes an offer

The buyer works out which records exist and how they connect, then proposes a scope and a price.

  5. You decide

You choose which records are included and review the terms with your own lawyer. Saying no costs you nothing.

  6. The buyer handles the rest

The contract, removal of personal information, secure delivery and payment are between you and the buyer, under the agreement you signed.

Who does what

Clear roles from the start

Me

Answer your first questions by email, give you an honest read on fit, and send you the buyer’s application link if you want to go ahead.

The buyer

Reviews your records, makes an offer, writes the license, removes personal information, handles delivery and pays you.

You

Decide which records are included, have your own lawyer review the terms, and say yes or no at every step.

Cost to you

Nothing. If a license is signed, the buyer pays me a referral fee. It doesn’t come from you.

Privacy and control

What the buyer commits to

The buyer I work with, micro1, publishes these commitments on its data partnerships page:

  • Licensing only to AI labs and companies based in the US and allied countries
  • Keeping each company's data separate from everyone else's
  • Removing or transforming personal and identifying information before the data is shared
  • Deleting raw data on a schedule agreed with you

Those are the buyer’s published commitments. Your signed agreement is what binds them, so read it closely and have your lawyer do the same.

Questions

About the process

How much of my team's time does this take?

The first steps take a few emails. If you go ahead, the buyer works with whoever runs your systems to scope an export. Ask the buyer for an estimate for your setup before you commit.

Do I need to get on a call with you?

No. I work by email. Once you apply, the buyer will want to speak with you directly.

How are you paid?

If a company I refer signs a data license with micro1, micro1 pays me a referral fee. micro1 tracks this through the application link I send you. The fee comes from micro1, not from you, and you're free to deal with micro1 directly at any time.

Can I stop partway through?

Yes. You can stop at any point before you sign, and you don't owe anyone anything.
